Brighton & Hove Food Partnership are now offering two community cooking courses at their new community kitchen.
As part of our commitment to Seaside Homes residents, we are pleased to be able to cover the cost of these courses upon confirmation of residency.
Simply contact Seaside Homes AFTER you have booked your place and we will arrange payment.
1) Ministry of Food – beginners cookery course
This is an eight-week beginners cookery course, for adults of all ages, full of tips for keeping healthy and happy. This course is for anyone who could do with some new ideas and recipes that you can try straight away at home. This is one of our Community Courses and open to people who live in Brighton & Hove who are in receipt of a means tested benefit.
START DATE: Wednesday 19th September 2018
DAYS: 8 x Wednesdays / TIME: 9.30am – 12.30pm
COST – Suggested donation of £5 per week, or £40 for 8 weeks.
2) Healthy Hearts Cookery
This is a 7 week cookery workshop for people with learning disabilities and their carers to learn about heart health, cooking healthily and undertaking exercise.
- Nutrition, heart health and healthy eating messages with a focus on fruit and veg / salt reduction and healthy breakfasts
- Cooking healthy food together
- Taking home accessible recipes
- A visit to a garden to pick fresh produce
- Advice about joining a community garden or lunch club
START DATE: Tuesday 30th October 2018
DAYS: 7 x Tuesdays / TIME: 9.30am – 12.30pm
COST – Suggested donation of £5 per week, or £35 for 7 weeks.
